Located on Gadigal Country with sweeping views of Sydney Harbour, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is one of Australia's premier art museums. Just a 15-minute walk from the city centre and nestled in beautiful parklands, it offers a world-class cultural experience for visitors of all ages.
More than two million people visit each year to enjoy diverse exhibitions, public programs, and an outstanding art collection. General admission is free, including most events and exhibitions.
In 2021, the Gallery marked its 150th anniversary. A year later, it unveiled the Sydney Modern Project, expanding into two architecturally striking buildings joined by a public art garden. In 2024, these buildings were named in the Gadigal language: Naala Badu ("seeing waters") and Naala Nura ("seeing Country")
